As computers become more and more crucial to our everyday lives we also begin to grow more and more comfortable around our new electronic friends, this can lead to the tendency to fiddle or think we can solve problems ourselves.
However, we often forget just how complicated a PC is, and it’s not just the many components hidden inside our machines that can cause trouble, danger can also lurk within the software itself.
Whilst some problems are obvious and easy to fix, the fault itself is not always a good indication of where ultimately the problem lies. This is where it is very important to seek professional advice before attempting to modify system settings within the software that you are unsure of. For example, loss of Internet connection could be related to a larger software problem caused by a faulty physical component.
I am sure we have all done it, had a problem with our PC, “Googled It” and taken the first piece of advice that we found without stopping to fully consider or research this “fix!” The Internet is full of a wealth of knowledge, but not all of it is good and with something as infinitely variable as a PC is it worth taking the chance?
We have seen many systems permanently damaged or put beyond cost effective repair by an enthusiastic DIYer, and whilst we always aim to arm you with the tools to keep niggling problems at bay, if you are unsure, get in touch. It could save you a lot of time and money!?
